HONOR launches the ultra-slim Magic V5 foldable in Dubai, setting a Guinness World Record and unveiling new AI-powered devices.

DUBAI: HONOR has taken foldable smartphones to new heights with the launch of the HONOR Magic V5, unveiled at a premium regional event at Atlantis The Royal. Under the theme “Unfold New Possibilities”, the showcase also introduced the HONOR MagicPad 3 tablet and HONOR MagicBook Art 14 2025 laptop, reinforcing the brand’s vision for a connected AI device ecosystem.

Penny Diao, CMO for HONOR Middle East & Africa, celebrated the brand’s rapid growth, revealing an 83% rise in shipments across the region. The Magic V5 builds on HONOR’s ultra-slim design legacy, measuring just 8.8mm, while tackling durability, battery life, and photography challenges.

The event featured a special Guinness World Records announcement, confirming the Magic V5 as the “Heaviest Weight Lifted by a Suspended Foldable Smartphone” — lifting 100kg — thanks to its HONOR Super Steel Hinge tested for 500,000 folds. The device also boasts IP58 and IP59 ratings and a NanoCrystal Shield that’s 15 times more scratch-resistant than standard glass.

Photography sees a leap forward with a 64MP telephoto lens, exceptional low-light performance, and AI Super Zoom up to 100x — the highest in a foldable. The Magic Sidebar brings AI-powered, context-aware tools like AI Summary and AI Subtitles, while Google Gemini integration offers a “Tap Tap” shortcut for instant AI assistance. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, the Magic V5 includes the industry’s largest foldable battery — 5,820mAh — with 66W wired and 50W wireless HONOR SuperCharge.

The launch also saw the debut of HONOR MagicPad 3, featuring a 13.3-inch 165Hz Eye Comfort Display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and an ultra-slim 5.79mm profile, and HONOR MagicBook Art 14 2025, a 1kg laptop with a vivid 1600nit Eye Comfort Display for productivity and portability. Both support HONOR Share for seamless file transfer across platforms.

Pre-orders for the Magic V5 start at USD 1,799, with colour options including Dawn Gold, Ivory White, Reddish Brown, and Black. The MagicPad 3 retails at USD 799 and the MagicBook Art 14 at USD 1,699, with country-specific gifts and offers available.
