Gulf Craft becomes MENA’s first shipyard to offer regulated crypto-to-fiat payments via ARP Pay, boosting UAE’s fintech leadership.

Dubai: Gulf Craft has become the first shipyard in the MENA region to accept fully regulated crypto-to-fiat payments for yacht purchases, refit services, and marine solutions. This bold step positions the UAE as a leading destination for innovation in both maritime and fintech sectors.

The new payment facility is powered by Bahrain-regulated ARP Pay and allows clients to settle transactions using stablecoins such as USDT and USDC. These are then seamlessly converted to AED or USD in compliance with regional financial regulations.

“By integrating ARP Pay, Gulf Craft not only aligns with evolving global client preferences but also reinforces the UAE’s stature as a forward-looking hub of maritime trade and digital finance,” said Mohammed Hussein Alshaali, Chairman, Gulf Craft.

This development follows a successful pilot in which part of a yacht transaction was paid via cryptocurrency—streamlining the process and enhancing the customer experience for international buyers.

“Adding a crypto option future-proofs our offering,” said Erwin Bamps, Group CEO, Gulf Craft. “Whether it’s a Majesty or Nomad yacht or our Oryx and SilverCAT ranges, clients can now transact through a transparent, swift, and compliant digital payment channel.”

The move is in step with the UAE’s ambition to become the world’s most crypto-friendly nation—backed by robust VARA regulations, a growing network of free-zone exchanges, and a strong pool of fintech talent.

Gulf Craft’s crypto-enabled payment pathway gives buyers flexibility while showcasing the UAE’s strength as a global leader in both luxury maritime craftsmanship and digital financial transformation.
