Dubai: India is set to have its biggest-ever participation at GITEX Global 2024, one of the world’s top technology events. Held at Dubai World Trade Centre from 14th to 18th October 2024, over 400 Indian companies will showcase their expertise in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Fintech, Mobility, and Sustainable Technology.
This year’s large-scale participation in GITEX shows India’s growing importance in the global tech industry, said Veer Sagar, Chairman of the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC). It also highlights India’s commitment to forming international partnerships.
Kamal Vachani, Regional Director of ESC-Dubai, praised India’s rise in the technology world. He pointed out that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has become a “Digital Beacon.” Cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad are now recognised globally as major tech hubs, Vachani added.
India’s technology growth is driven by increasing IT spending, which is expected to reach $124.6 billion in 2024, growing by 10.7% from last year. Areas like AI, cloud computing, and innovation are at the heart of this expansion.

India’s role as a global technology leader is also strengthened by its Global Capability Centres (GCCs). These centres generate $64.6 billion in exports and employ nearly 1.9 million professionals, supporting the country’s growing influence in technology.
India and the UAE have enjoyed strong trade ties for decades. In 2023, bilateral trade reached $84.84 billion, making the UAE India’s third-largest trading partner. The UAE is also a significant investor in India, contributing $16.67 billion in foreign direct investment.
Looking ahead, India will host the 25th INDIASOFT and 10th INDIA ELECTRONICS EXPO in March 2025 in New Delhi, showcasing the country’s latest technological innovations.
