Hotpack’s latest sustainability report reveals 97% recyclable product portfolio and outlines its roadmap to net-zero emissions by 2050.

Dubai: Hotpack, the UAE-based global leader in sustainable packaging, has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, revealing that 97% of its 4,000+ product portfolio is now recyclable or environmentally friendly. The report underscores Hotpack’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, supported by strategic partnerships and innovation-led transformation.

The company is working closely with RWTH Aachen University in Germany to conduct a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This collaboration provides a detailed analysis of environmental impact across the supply chain—from raw material sourcing to end-of-life disposal—ensuring alignment with global best practices.

“Our journey to net-zero is guided by research, innovation, and responsible design,” said Abdul Jebbar PB, Group CEO & Managing Director of Hotpack. “Through initiatives like H-PET and partnerships with institutions such as RWTH Aachen, we’re leading the shift towards a circular economy in the UAE and globally.”

The sustainability report also highlights the development of H-PET, a modified lightweight polyethylene terephthalate material that is fully recyclable and significantly reduces carbon emissions. Alongside this, Hotpack is working with RECAPP to divert 40 tonnes of waste annually from landfills, equivalent to an 84-tonne reduction in CO₂ emissions per year.

Zainudeen PB, Group Executive Director, added, “A diverse, empowered team is at the heart of our sustainable growth. Our focus on employee well-being, inclusion, and ethical workplace practices is instrumental in driving both purpose and performance.”

Hotpack’s Supplier Code of Conduct and Sustainable Procurement Strategy emphasise responsible sourcing and labour practices. With a zero-tolerance policy for forced labour and 1:1 gender pay equity, the company has built a diverse workforce—18% from minority or vulnerable communities—and ensures women’s representation across leadership roles.

The Hotpack Happiness Initiative, now in its third year, offers wellness programmes, health screenings, and policies promoting work-life balance. These efforts, alongside community outreach programmes and civic partnerships, reflect Hotpack’s people-first business ethos.

With a bold roadmap to net-zero, a 97% recyclable product line, and a culture rooted in inclusivity and accountability, the Hotpack sustainability report positions the company as a regional frontrunner in environmentally responsible manufacturing and ethical enterprise.
