MOCCAE conducts 27 UAE environmental inspection campaigns in H1 2025, ensuring compliance across fisheries, agriculture, and industrial sectors.
Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has revealed the outcomes of its UAE environmental inspection campaigns for the first half of 2025. Working closely with local authorities, the Ministry led 27 joint inspection campaigns, covering 91 facilities across multiple Emirates, to enforce legislation and promote environmental sustainability.
These UAE environmental inspection efforts are part of MOCCAE’s Strategic Plan 2023–2026, designed to strengthen compliance in key sectors, including fisheries, agriculture, and industry. The campaigns identified violations, with legal actions such as penalties and, when required, temporary closures issued against non-compliant facilities.
His Excellency Marwan Abdullah Al Zaabi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Regions Sector at MOCCAE, stated:
“These joint inspections are an effective mechanism for transforming our strategic vision into concrete action. Beyond detecting violations, we prioritise educating business owners about their role in achieving environmental sustainability.”
The fisheries inspections targeted fish markets, fishing gear manufacturing sites, and tackle shops. In agriculture and livestock, the focus included veterinary clinics, animal shelters, breeding centres, veterinary medicine and feed factories, and agricultural supply stores. Industrial checks covered crushers, quarries, and cement factories, ensuring adherence to environmental laws.
Alongside enforcement, MOCCAE integrated awareness-building initiatives such as training workshops, media outreach, and educational programmes to promote best practices and reduce future violations.
By prioritising both regulation and education, the UAE environmental inspection campaigns aim to protect natural resources, maintain public health, and foster sustainable practices nationwide. MOCCAE reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing collaboration with local authorities to ensure consistent, high-quality legislative enforcement for the benefit of present and future generations.
