The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has introduced a new service that allows marriage contracts to be instantly delivered through text messages and approved electronic channels.

In this unique initiative, couples receive the digital contract right after the official concludes and digitally authenticates the marriage session.

Since starting in October 2022, the ADJD has processed about 7,000 digital marriage contracts, making the entire procedure electronic, including virtual marriage sessions through video conferencing. The final contract can be shared through official channels using a digital signature.

Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, ADJD’s Undersecretary, highlighted this service as a sign of the department’s commitment to excellence in the judicial and notarial sectors of Abu Dhabi. It aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aiming to enhance Abu Dhabi’s judicial framework globally.

The digital marriage contracts service simplifies the application process through the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s website, using UAE Pass for submissions. After approval, applicants can complete procedures electronically and choose an in-person or video-call marriage session via the appointment booking system. Once officiated, the digital contract is promptly delivered.

This platform provides users with scheduling flexibility, access to officiants’ availability, automated medical examination results, and ensures authenticity with a digitally authenticated electronic contract number, eliminating traditional paper documentation.
