AJMAN: The Ajman Government has officially inaugurated the Sheikh Zayed Street Development Project in the Al Helio area, marking a major step in the emirate’s infrastructure growth. The AED 63 million project, spanning 2.8 kilometres, was launched under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman.

Led by the Ajman Municipality & Planning Department in coordination with Ajman Police, the project is part of broader efforts to modernise the emirate’s road network and improve transport efficiency. Officials say the development will enhance traffic flow, safety, and connectivity in one of Ajman’s rapidly expanding residential zones.

The initiative aligns with Ajman Vision 2030, which targets the creation of a sustainable and integrated infrastructure system. With population and urbanisation on the rise, the road improvement is expected to boost daily commutes, support economic growth, and contribute to a higher standard of living.

According to the municipality, Sheikh Zayed Street will now serve as a key link connecting Al Helio with other parts of Ajman, while also reducing congestion on parallel routes. The project includes road widening, upgraded pedestrian walkways, lighting, and environmental landscaping.

Officials affirmed that the development reflects the leadership’s commitment to enhancing public services and infrastructure across all regions of the emirate. “This road is more than asphalt—it’s a route toward modern living and sustainable development,” one official noted during the opening ceremony.

Residents in Al Helio have welcomed the move, citing smoother travel and better access to main roads and amenities.
