Pakistani Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, has encouraged Pakistani residents to represent their country positively while following local laws.

ABU DHABI: Today, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi to celebrate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm. Many Pakistani community members and their families attended the event. Messages from Pakistani leaders were read, and Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi welcomed everyone and congratulated them on Independence Day. He also encouraged expats on Pakistan’s Independence Day to showcase positive image of their country.

At the event celebrating Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, he praised the impressive event and the strong bond between Pakistan and the UAE, which was established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

“This extraordinary celebration is a testament to the deep-rooted and enduring partnership between Pakistan and the UAE,” Ambassador Tirmizi stated. “A relationship firmly established by the visionary leadership of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”

He emphasized the importance of unity, faith, and discipline for Pakistan’s progress and prayed for the country’s peace and prosperity. The Ambassador encouraged the community to continue contributing to Pakistan’s development and acknowledged their role in both the UAE’s growth and the support provided through remittances. He also planted a tree and inaugurated the newly renovated Consular Hall of the Embassy. During the ceremony, local school children performed national songs.

The event, attended by over 20,000 people from various backgrounds, highlighted Pakistani culture, music, and food. Ambassador Tirmizi noted the Pakistani community’s pride and strength and urged residents to respect UAE laws and develop their skills, recognizing their vital role in the UAE’s growth.

He concluded his remarks by congratulating Pakistani javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem on his historic victory at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
