Dubai Police reported that two individuals sustained injuries on Saturday, December 16, as a renowned shopping center in the city, Al Mulla Plaza, experienced a partial collapse. Swift action was taken by authorities.

As per reports, the accident occurred due to improper storage of heavy materials.

Being one of Dubai’s longstanding malls, Al Mulla Plaza holds the status of a landmark and organizes fairs throughout the year. As one of the country’s original retail hubs, it stands as a living testament to the history of shopping in the UAE. Additionally, it includes a contemporary apartment block situated above the shopping center below.

In 2017, a fire broke out at Dubai’s Lamcy Plaza shopping centre, located in Oud Metha. 

Deubai Media Office had tweeted that about the fire that broke out on the shopping centre’s roof of Lamcy Plaza Center. While no injuries had been reported, Lamcy Plaza has been closed ever since.
