Moscow celebrates winners of the 11th For Fidelity to Science awards, spotlighting leading voices in science communication and innovation.
MOSCOW: Russia’s commitment to making science accessible was on full display as the 11th For Fidelity to Science awards ceremony honoured the country’s top science communicators and educators in Moscow. Held at the Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya, the event drew a record-breaking 2,000 projects from across Russia, highlighting the growing importance of science popularisation.
The prestigious national award, launched in 2015 as part of Russia’s Decade of Science and Technology initiative, celebrates excellence in science communication and raises the public profile of scientists, engineers, and researchers. The 2025 edition included a wide array of categories, recognising achievements in digital content, journalism, education, and scientific outreach.
One of the key highlights was the “Digital Content Author” prize, awarded to Vladislav Vulfovich for his engaging science show Science for Everyone, which makes complex theories digestible through collaborations with popular bloggers. The award was presented by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, who also read a message from President Vladimir Putin praising the role of science in ensuring national development and technological sovereignty.
Among other notable winners were Natalya Vedeneeva, named “Science Journalist of the Year,” and academician Irina Beletskaya of the Russian Academy of Sciences, who received the “Recognition” award for her lifetime contributions to chemistry.
The category also featured Laboratorium, a TV BRICS digital series directed by Andrey Gula, which explores new scientific breakthroughs and Russian innovations.
By honouring researchers, educators, and content creators, the For Fidelity to Science awards serve as a reminder of the crucial link between scientific achievement and public engagement. As Russia deepens its focus on innovation and future technologies, the role of science communicators continues to grow more influential.
