Google launches AI tools Flow and Gemini’s photo-to-video in MENA, enabling creators to transform photos into cinematic clips using Veo 3 technology.
Dubai: Google has unveiled Flow and Gemini’s photo-to-video functionality in MENA, expanding access to its most advanced AI creative tools. This launch marks a milestone in democratising cinematic content creation across the region, now available in both English and Arabic.
Gemini’s photo-to-video capability enables users to convert still images into animated eight-second videos with sound. By selecting the ‘Videos’ tool within the Gemini app, uploading a photo, and adding descriptive prompts and audio cues, users can bring scenes to life—from nature landscapes to hand-drawn artwork. The final clip can be downloaded or shared directly.
Complementing this is Flow, Google’s AI-powered filmmaking platform built for its latest models: Veo 3, Imagen, and Gemini. Flow is tailored for both aspiring and seasoned creators, offering features like:
- Camera Controls for dynamic shot composition
- Scenebuilder to extend narratives with smooth transitions
- Asset Management for organised prompt and media handling
Over the past seven weeks, more than 40 million Veo 3 videos have been generated globally via Gemini and Flow, showcasing the explosive adoption of AI storytelling tools.
Crucially, Google ensures transparency through a visible AI watermark and an invisible SynthID watermark embedded in all generated videos, confirming their AI origin.
The release aligns with MENA’s surging content creation landscape and digital-first user base. With tools now supporting Arabic and tailored for local markets, Google AI Flow and Gemini represent a significant step in enabling storytellers across the region to explore cinematic expression.
Creators can access these features through Gemini by subscribing to the Google AI Pro or Ultra plans.
