DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has received the SAS UAE Award for Innovative Transportation AI Use Cases. This award recognises RTA’s efforts in using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for traffic management and developing various AI-based solutions through partnerships with the private sector and agreements with leading global companies.
RTA’s success in winning this award stems from its early investment in Big Data and AI solutions. RTA boasts one of the largest Big Data platforms, enabling the swift and high-quality collection and analysis of data. This platform creates dashboards that help management make informed, data-driven decisions.
RTA has also created a Corporate AI Platform for data processing and training AI algorithms, which speeds up the development of AI models. This platform includes tools for monitoring AI performance and governing decision-making processes. These features support RTA’s efforts to align with Dubai’s goal of becoming the smartest city in the world by using AI to improve residents’ well-being, promote sustainability, and enhance service efficiency.

Represented by the Smart Services Department within the Corporate Technology Support Services Sector, RTA has worked with SAS to train Emiratis in AI applications.
