OSLO: Emirati powerboat racer Alia Abdulsalam Fairooz, representing Team Mubadala, achieved a new milestone in her career by setting a personal best lap time of 48.34 seconds at the opening round of the Scandinavian Formula 4 Powerboat Championship in Norway.

Despite a technical malfunction that kept her out of the main race, Alia impressed in both free practice and the time trial, where she clocked her fastest performance to date. The Alia Abdulsalam record underscores her growing presence in the competitive Formula 4 circuit.

Reflecting on the event, Alia admitted the setback was unexpected but remained positive about the progress made: “The Norway round was an important milestone ahead of the Italy race, and I’m proud to have set a new personal record despite the challenges,” she said.

Team Mubadala has announced plans for a short training camp in the Norwegian city of Sonja to prepare Alia for the next round in Italy, scheduled for 15th September. The camp aims to fine-tune technical performance and strategy to ensure stronger results in upcoming competitions.

The Alia Abdulsalam record adds momentum to her journey as one of the UAE’s rising motorsport athletes. With continued support and focused training, she remains a promising contender in international powerboat racing.
