DP World ILT20 Season 4 begins December 2 with Dubai Capitals vs Desert Vipers — a rematch of last season’s final.
DUBAI: Cricket fans across the UAE can look forward to a blockbuster opening as the DP World ILT20 Season 4 gets underway on Tuesday, 2 December, at the Dubai International Stadium. The curtain-raiser will see defending champions Dubai Capitals take on Desert Vipers in what promises to be a high-octane repeat of last season’s unforgettable final clash.
In Season 3, the Capitals snatched a nail-biting victory from the Vipers with just four balls to spare, lifting their maiden DP World ILT20 trophy. Now, they return to the same venue to defend their title and reignite one of the league’s most exciting rivalries.
The six-team tournament will feature 34 matches in total, with Dubai hosting 15, Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Cricket Stadium staging 11, and eight matches taking place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The action-packed league spans across multiple iconic UAE venues and promises weeks of elite cricket entertainment.
Following the opening game, Sharjah Warriorz — playoff qualifiers for the first time in Season 3 — will meet Abu Dhabi Knight Riders at the historic Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Former champions Gulf Giants and MI Emirates will lock horns on 4 December at Dubai International Stadium, continuing the early flurry of top-tier matchups.
The league will proceed with a 30-match double round-robin format before heading into the playoffs. The top four teams will qualify, with Qualifier 1 scheduled for 30 December in Abu Dhabi, the Eliminator on 1 January in Dubai, and Qualifier 2 in Sharjah.
The grand finale is set for Sunday, 4 January, once again at Dubai International Stadium, beginning at 6:30pm local time, rounding off what promises to be another unforgettable cricketing festival in the UAE.
