West Indies’ Andre Fletcher becomes the most expensive player at the ILT20 Season 4 Auction, bagging USD 260,000 from MI Emirates, as UAE pacers also shine.
DUBAI: The DP World ILT20 Season 4 Player Auction made history on October 1 with explosive West Indies batter Andre Fletcher securing the highest-ever payday in the tournament’s history at USD 260,000, retained by MI Emirates for a fourth consecutive season. The record-setting deal capped a high-intensity auction day that featured marquee global and regional talent.
Just behind Fletcher, England’s Scott Currie went to Dubai Capitals for USD 250,000, while Liam Dawson was picked up by Gulf Giants for USD 170,000. However, it was the UAE’s rising pacers who stole the spotlight—Junaid Siddique (USD 170,000, Sharjah Warriorz) and Muhammad Rohid (USD 140,000, MI Emirates) fetched big-money deals, signalling a shift in regional cricket dynamics.
Among other notable deals, Fakhar Zaman and Naseem Shah were snapped up by Desert Vipers for USD 80,000 each, and Mohammad Nabi joined Dubai Capitals for the same price. Shakib Al Hasan joined MI Emirates at USD 40,000, alongside international and Associate Nation players from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, USA, and the Netherlands.
The auction also spotlighted success stories from the ILT20 Development Tournament, with Haider Razzaq, the top wicket-taker, bought by Gulf Giants for USD 50,000. Sanjay Pahal, the Player of the Tournament, was retained by Desert Vipers, while Raees Ahmed returned to Sharjah Warriorz at his base price.
Franchises were required to build squads of 19 to 21 players, including quotas for Full Member nations, UAE players, and those from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and other ICC Associate Nations. Each team is also allowed two Wildcard signings post-auction.
The six-team tournament kicks off on 2 December 2025 (UAE National Day), culminating in the final on 4 January 2026. With over USD 9 million spent across squads, ILT20 Season 4 promises a competitive, globally inclusive cricketing showcase.
