Dubai: The concluded Gulf Youth Games were held in the UAE from April 16 to May 2. Around 3,500 athletes, both male and female, competed in 24 sports across 41 events. The event also involved 300 volunteers and received coverage from 100 media personnel.

Sheikh Ahmed highlighted the importance of such events in nurturing young talents and contributing to sports development. He thanked the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for their support. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, expressed the UAE’s commitment to boost sports across the Gulf region. He praised President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for their guidance.
The Gulf Youth Games showcased unity and sportsmanship among athletes, with Gulf athletes excelling and winning numerous medals. The UAE led the medal tally with 296 medals, followed by Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.

Various sports were part of the Gulf Youth Games, including football, swimming, judo, boxing, cycling, and many more. The theme of the event was “Our Gulf is One… Our Youth are Promising.”
Sheikh Ahmed congratulated all winners and hoped that the Games’ success would lead to further advancements in Gulf sports. He praised the UAE’s excellence in hosting such events, establishing it as a premier sports destination.
