ABU DHABI: Louvre Abu Dhabi and Swiss watchmaking brand Richard Mille have revealed the jury and shortlisted artists for the fourth edition of Art Here 2024 and the Richard Mille Art Prize. This annual exhibition and competition aim to support the region’s vibrant art scene by providing local and regional artists a prominent platform to showcase their work and expand their creative boundaries.
The jury for this year’s event includes distinguished members from various cultural backgrounds, adding diverse perspectives to the selection process. The scope of the competition has expanded to include artists from North Africa alongside those from the GCC.
The Art Here 2024 jury features returning and new members, each bringing their unique expertise in art curation, criticism, and collection management. This year’s theme, Awakenings, invites artists to explore the concept of openness through their work. Openness is seen as the start of new possibilities and the choices that guide one’s direction. Shortlisted artists will create sculptures or audiovisual installations addressing contemporary and future questions.

The selected works will be displayed at the Louvre Abu Dhabi from 20th September to 15th December 2024. The Art Here 2024 theme encourages artists to translate the idea of openness into visual forms, reflecting beginnings and the many possibilities they bring.
This edition of Art Here at Louvre Abu Dhabi has drawn submissions from across the UAE, GCC, North Africa, and beyond. From 230 submissions, five exceptional artists from the UAE, Tunisia, and Egypt have been shortlisted. Their works, each offering unique perspectives and artistic approaches, will be showcased in the 2024 Art Here exhibition. These artists will compete for the prestigious Richard Mille Art Prize and a cash award of US$60,000.

This collaboration with Richard Mille allows Louvre Abu Dhabi to continuously innovate and present new, creative themes. Extending the open call to North Africa this year highlights the museum’s commitment to expanding its reach and enriching the cultural landscape of the region.
