SHARJAH: H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, has announced the formation of the Sharjah Media Council through a new decree. This council will be led by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
Sharjah, one of the emirates in the United Arab Emirates, is known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant arts scene. It has been recognized as the Cultural Capital of the Arab World and has made significant strides in promoting education, culture, and media.
The Sharjah Media Council’s team includes several important figures: Mohammed Hassan Khalaf from the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Tariq Saeed Allay from the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Rashid Abdullah Al Obed from Sharjah Media City (Shams), Salem Ali Hamad Al Ghaithi from the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Alia Al Suwaidi from the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and Hessa Abdullah Al Hammadi.
Sharjah has a strong focus on media development, and this new council will play a crucial role in shaping the media landscape in the emirate. The council’s work will help in promoting Sharjah’s cultural and media initiatives, supporting local talent, and enhancing the overall media environment in the region.

According to the decree, each member will serve a four-year term, which can be extended for additional terms. Even after the term expires, the council will continue its work until a new council is appointed. Members whose terms have ended may also be reappointed.
