The UAE pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka hosted workshops on oud, incense, and perfume making, highlighting Emirati traditional crafts to global visitors.
OSAKA: The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka recently conducted a series of traditional craft workshops, introducing international visitors to the rich heritage of Emirati craftsmanship. The initiative was organised in collaboration with the House of Artisans and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
As part of the experience, attendees had the opportunity to learn the art of making oud, mixing incense, and crafting authentic Emirati perfumes. These sensory-rich sessions provided hands-on exposure to the cultural elements that define the UAE’s national identity and aesthetic traditions.
Nouf Al Dhaheri, Artisan Affairs Administrator at the House of Artisans, explained that these workshops were part of the pavilion’s specialised perfume programme. She noted that the goal was to promote and preserve the culture of Emirati traditional crafts, particularly perfumes and incense, by sharing it with a global audience.
The event attracted high interest and participation, reflecting the growing curiosity and appreciation for Emirati heritage at international platforms such as Expo 2025 Osaka. The UAE Pavilion continues to serve as a cultural bridge between the Emirates and the world.
