MUMBAI: ZEE5 has announced a record-breaking start for its latest release Tehran, which has become the fastest Hindi film of 2025 to cross 100 million streaming minutes on the platform. Premiering on 14 August 2025, the geo-political thriller reached the milestone within just 72 hours, with total viewing time surpassing 200 million minutes in its debut week.
The success has placed Tehran ZEE5 streaming at the top of the platform’s charts for 2025, trending across 17 Indian states and consistently holding a spot in the Top 3. The film also broke into the Top 5 ZEE5 titles of the year across more than 190 countries, with strong viewership from the US, UK, MENA and APAC regions.
The promotional campaign for the film was equally impactful, featuring a visual projection of the movie poster on Mumbai’s Bandra Worli Sea Link on the eve of its release, witnessed by thousands alongside John Abraham. The marketing push also included a first-of-its-kind screening at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS) in Delhi, followed by an interactive session with the actor on foreign policy and storytelling.

Directed by Dinesh Vijan, the film stars John Abraham, Neeru Bajwa, Manushi Chhillar and Madhurima Tuli, and is inspired by real-life events surrounding the 2012 magnetic bomb explosion near the Israeli Embassy in Delhi. With its strong performance, Tehran ZEE5 streaming joins the ranks of the platform’s most successful films to date.
