Rakhee Gulzar and Nandita Das bring Aamar Boss to ZEE5 Global, a touching Bengali drama on family, aging, and rediscovery, premiering August 22.

GLOBAL: Legendary actress Rakhee Gulzar returns to the screen in Aamar Boss, a moving family drama directed by Nandita Das and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, now streaming on Bangla ZEE5 from August 22, 2025. Produced by Windows Productions, this emotional Bengali film explores aging, identity, and dignity in the ever-evolving fabric of modern family life.

In Aamar Boss, Animesh (Shiboprosad Mukherjee), a publishing house owner, faces emotional disconnect and professional stress when his mother, Shubhra (Rakhee Gulzar), a retired nurse, quietly re-emerges in his life. What follows is a tender, nuanced exploration of mother–son bonds, generational expectations and the pursuit of second chances.

Featuring a stellar cast including Srabanti Chatterjee, Sauraseni Maitra, and Gourab Chatterjee, the film has already earned acclaim at the 55th International Film Festival of India-Goa and the 22nd Chennai International Film Festival. Its emotional resonance has made it one of the most anticipated ZEE5 releases this August.

The platform’s spokesperson shared, “Aamar Boss speaks to everyone who has navigated the complex dynamics of aging parents and modern living. We’re proud to showcase this universal story with such legendary talent.” Co-director Nandita Roy noted that the film “champions love, dignity and relevance in later life.” Shiboprosad Mukherjee added, “This is a tribute to mothers and their quiet strength.”

With its layered characters and heartfelt storytelling, Aamar Boss offers more than just entertainment—it offers reflection, healing and empathy for viewers across generations.
