Earth 2.0, a two-day student STEM event at Expo City Dubai on 22–23 November, features workshops on rockets, robotics, and space science with NASA astronaut Charles Donald “Sam” Gemar. Earth 2.0 space programme invites students aged 8–12 on a bold journey into planetary design and discovery.

DUBAI: Young minds are invited to embark on an exciting space-themed learning journey as Earth 2.0 space programme lands at Expo City Dubai on 22 and 23 November 2025. Organised by the Expo School Programme, this two-day interactive event aims to inspire future scientists, engineers, and innovators through hands-on workshops and real-life astronaut insights.

Taking place at the Connect Conference Centre (C3), Earth 2.0 will be led by global STEM educators SkillUp, offering students aged 8 to 12 a rare opportunity to work alongside NASA astronaut Charles Donald “Sam” Gemar. A retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, Colonel Gemar has flown three Space Shuttle missions, completed 385 Earth orbits, and spent over 581 hours in space — making him the ideal guide for this out-of-this-world experience.

The programme’s immersive format combines science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through engaging modules on rocket science, robotics, satellite communication, and planetary environments. Children will use artificial intelligence tools and satellite imagery to analyse Earth data, encouraging them to consider sustainable living on Earth — and beyond.

More than just a workshop, Earth 2.0 space programme encourages critical thinking, teamwork, and creativity through challenges, reflection sessions, and final presentations. The event aims to ignite imagination while grounding students in the real-world complexities and wonders of space exploration.

Rooted in the spirit of Expo’s legacy of innovation and learning, Earth 2.0 reflects the UAE’s commitment to future-ready education. “This isn’t just about learning space facts,” say organisers, “It’s about developing momentum — inspiring the next generation to think big, act collaboratively, and shape the future.”

The programme runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on both days. Registration is now open, with two pricing options: AED 450 (excluding lunch) or AED 510 (including lunch). For details and bookings, visit Expo School Programme.
