RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2025 launches 10 November at Khalifa University, hosting 700+ participants and showcasing global AI and robotics innovation.

ABU DHABI: Khalifa University of Science and Technology has announced it will host the 8th edition of RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) 2025, the largest robotics and AI competition of its kind in the GCC, from 10 to 15 November 2025. The event coincides with the launch of Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week 2025, and is set to bring together more than 700 international participants, alongside over 2,500 visitors and guests.

RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2025 will feature competitions across eight leagues and 15 sub-leagues, covering categories from autonomous soccer robots to search-and-rescue bots and artistic performance systems. The challenges align closely with the UAE’s national tech priorities, focusing on smart mobility, sustainable AI solutions, and innovations that solve regional challenges.

Khalifa University will also spotlight its advanced research in autonomous robotics, swarm intelligence, robotic perception, and human-machine interaction, providing visitors a front-row view into UAE-led innovation.

The UAE will be represented by three teams with 20 students in the RoboCupJunior leagues, competing in Soccer, Rescue, and OnStage. The young participants will gain international exposure while competing with teams from 22 countries, including China, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Russia, and Malaysia.

The student teams are supported by the Strategic Programme for Autonomous Robotics Challenge (SPARC), which offers technical mentorship, event coordination, and international collaboration to strengthen the UAE’s robotics ecosystem.

Organisers confirmed that 151 teams from 21 countries and regions are registered, involving 468 students and 187 mentors — reflecting a strong global turnout and growing interest in AI-driven robotic solutions.
