Emirates has been crowned the “World’s Best Airline” among 90 global carriers in a comprehensive study by Telegraph Travel. The ranking was based on over 30 criteria, including punctuality, baggage allowance, fleet age, route network, in-flight meals, and rewards programmes. The study pulled data from 18 independent awards, reader polls, and expert reviews.
Emirates was praised for excelling in nearly every category. It operates the largest number of Airbus A380s, known for offering more space and legroom across all cabins, including economy. The airline’s premium economy on its A380s was rated the best, while business class was commended for its consistent quality, complete with a chauffeur service. First class was highlighted for its superior wine list and in-flight showers. With a network covering 140 cities in 77 countries, Emirates’ extensive reach was also a key factor.
The study described Emirates as a “worthy winner,” citing its top performance in categories like baggage allowance, punctuality, and in-flight experience. The airline also topped the long-haul carrier category, voted by 30,000 Telegraph Travel readers.

The independent methodology behind the study evaluated the 90 airlines based on passenger numbers and various performance metrics, including reliability, safety, inflight experience, and quality of lounges. Multiple sources were considered, from Apex and Skytrax to TrustPilot reviews.
In 2024 alone, Emirates has received an impressive 19 additional awards and recognitions from various global sources, further cementing its reputation as a leading airline in the industry.
