RAS AL KHAIMAH: The Jais Flight zip line in Ras Al Khaimah is now officially the longest in the world, according to Guinness World Records. Stretching nearly three kilometres, it offers an unparalleled thrill for adventure seekers.
This zip line is located on Jebel Jais Mountain, the tallest peak in the UAE, standing over 1,930 metres high. It’s becoming a must-visit spot for thrill-seekers in the Middle East.
Before you take off, you’ll start at the Jais Adventure Park welcome centre. Here, you can buy tickets, grab a bite at the 1484 by Puro restaurant, and store your belongings. You’ll get all the information you need and get geared up for your adventure.
Yanick, a Canadian tourist, shared his excitement with the Emirates News Agency (WAM). He said he came to the UAE specifically to try out the world’s longest zip line. “It’s been a crazy, amazing, and unique experience. It feels like you’re flying like a bird. Highly recommended,” he said.
The zip line is set 1,680 metres above sea level and has no age limit, but you must weigh between 40 and 120 kilograms and be at least 122 centimetres tall for safety. Once you’re strapped in, you’ll soar down the line in a Superman position for about two minutes. You’ll end up on a platform with a glass floor, suspended in mid-air.
The team running the zip line has plenty of experience in adventure sports and ensures top-notch safety standards. Alejandro Soto, the Operations Manager from Costa Rica, said they carefully inspect the zip line daily and train staff to meet high safety standards.
Philip Durrell, Senior Operations Director at RAK Leisure, mentioned that the zip line is just one of the many attractions on Jebel Jais Mountain. The area aims to make Ras Al Khaimah a top tourist spot, offering a range of activities beyond the usual desert experiences in the Emirates.

For those not into extreme sports, there’s the Jais Sledder, a roller coaster that lets you control your speed and braking. Durrell advises visitors to “come with an open mind” and explore all the exciting options at their own pace.
