The theme for 2024, “Tourism and Peace”, emphasises tourism’s role in fostering global peace and understanding. Dubai, named the No. 1 global destination in Tripadvisor’s 2024 Travellers’ Choice Awards, excels in cultural tourism, backed by world-class infrastructure and unique experiences.

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority plays a key role in promoting cultural tourism through its museums, heritage, and archaeological sites. Al Shindagha Museum, the UAE’s largest open-air museum, and Etihad Museum, which traces the UAE’s formation, are standout attractions. Visitors can also explore the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, offering a glimpse into traditional life in Dubai. Hatta Heritage Village, recognised by Condé Nast Traveler, showcases local traditions and architecture.
Archaeological sites like Saruq al-Hadid and the Jumeirah Archaeological Site offer visitors a journey through ancient history, with artefacts from thousands of years ago. Muna Faisal Al Gurg, CEO of the Culture and Heritage Sector at Dubai Culture, highlights the city’s commitment to enhancing cultural tourism, noting its importance in diversifying Dubai’s economy. The city’s cultural offerings have boosted tourism by 10%, solidifying Dubai as a top destination for living, working, and entertainment.
