Denpasar: Elon Musk travelled to Bali, the resort island of Indonesia, on Sunday to initiate the Starlink satellite internet service in the world’s largest archipelago nation, as reported by agencies.
Musk was welcomed at a community health clinic in Denpasar, Bali’s provincial capital, where he, along with Indonesian ministers, unveiled the Starlink service.
During the event, Musk conducted a speed test of the Starlink internet service with several health workers in remote regions of Indonesia, including Aru, one of the country’s underserved and outermost islands in Maluku province.
Musk stated that Starlink service’s availability in Indonesia would enable millions in remote areas of the country to access the internet. The country has over 270 million residents and spans three different time zones.
