UAE and Kuwait discuss enhanced military cooperation during official visit, aiming to boost joint defence capability and regional security.
KUWAIT CITY: In a step towards deeper regional defence collaboration, Major General Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, paid an official visit to Kuwait to discuss military cooperation with senior Kuwaiti defence leaders.
He was received by Lieutenant General Khaled AlShuriaan, Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, and Major General Pilot Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of the General Staff. The high-level discussions focused on strengthening strategic military ties between the UAE and Kuwait, enhancing joint operations, and exchanging expertise to confront regional challenges more effectively.
The visit falls within the wider framework of bolstering military coordination and security partnerships between the two Gulf nations. Both sides emphasised the importance of upgrading combat readiness and sharing operational experiences in light of evolving regional dynamics.
This renewed dialogue reflects the long-standing defence relationship between the UAE and Kuwait, underscoring their shared vision for security, peace, and military preparedness. The two delegations reviewed mechanisms to further align training programmes, joint exercises, and capacity-building initiatives to increase interoperability.
