ABU DHABI: The organising committee of the Global Media Congress 2024, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has unveiled Media Lab, a transformative initiative to empower media professionals. Over three days, Media Lab will focus on enhancing media literacy, equipping experts with cutting-edge tools, and addressing contemporary challenges.
Day 1: The Evolution of Sportainment: A Media Revolution in the Middle East and Beyond
This session explores how digital innovations are reshaping sports media. Panellists will discuss the region’s investments in sports infrastructure, partnerships, and local networks, which are attracting younger audiences. They’ll also address the cultural and economic impact of sports media, highlighting strategies to balance commercial success with traditional values.
Day 2: Closing the Data-Insight Gap: Leveraging Behavioural Science and Technology for Smarter Leadership
This session examines how behavioural science and technology enable leaders to turn vast datasets into actionable insights. Discussions will explore predictive tools, personalisation, and smarter decision-making, empowering leaders to navigate data-rich environments while balancing short-term and long-term goals.
Day 3: Credible Storytelling: Championing Truth to Drive Social Action
This session emphasises storytelling’s role in combating misinformation and fostering social change. Panellists will explore how ethical, credible narratives inspire action, amplify marginalised voices, and address global issues.
The Media Lab aligns with the Congress’s goal of building professional capabilities, fostering collaboration, and promoting impactful content creation. By addressing sportainment, data insights, and storytelling, it provides a comprehensive platform for driving innovation and credibility in modern media.
