Japanese immunologist Dr. Toru Miyazaki developed an “AIM” injection to address chronic kidney disease (CKD) in cats, aiming to prolong their lives up to 30 years.
CKD affects about 30% of cats by age 10, posing substantial health risks.
Despite initial funding posing to be challenge, worldwide support enabled the research to progress, showing promising clinical trial outcomes. This treatment could be accessible by 2025.
