India booked their place in the Asia Cup 2025 final after defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs in Dubai.

DUBAI: India booked their spot in the DP World Asia Cup 2025 final with a convincing 41-run win over Bangladesh at the Dubai International Stadium. The victory marked India’s second straight success in the Super 4 stage and highlighted their formidable balance in both batting and bowling.

Batting first, India got off to a flying start thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s blistering 75 off 37 balls, laced with six boundaries and five sixes. Alongside Shubman Gill’s brisk 29, India raced to 77 runs inside the powerplay. However, Bangladesh fought back through Mustafizur Rahman (1/33) and Rishad Hossain (2/27), restricting India to 168/6 after a strong finish in the last 10 overs.

In reply, Bangladesh faltered early when Jasprit Bumrah struck in his opening over. Saif Hassan’s valiant 69 off 51 balls kept their hopes alive, but the middle order crumbled under pressure. Kuldeep Yadav (3/18) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/29) tightened the screws with sharp spells, while Bumrah’s death-bowling ensured Bangladesh were bowled out for 127 in 19.3 overs.

Abhishek Sharma was named Player of the Match, not just for his batting heroics but also for two key catches that maintained India’s dominance.

With the win, India advance to the tournament final, scheduled for Sunday, 28 September, at Dubai International Stadium.
