ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan has conferred the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) on Major General Humaid Mohammed Alremeithi, Commander of the UAE Naval Forces, in a special ceremony recognising his efforts to strengthen military ties between the two nations.

The honour was presented during Major General Alremeithi’s official visit to Pakistan, which took place on the invitation of Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff. The visit aimed to boost naval cooperation and foster mutual exchange of maritime expertise.

As part of the high-level engagement, the UAE Naval Forces Commander held discussions with senior Pakistani defence officials, including General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. The meetings focused on joint initiatives, training collaborations, and regional maritime security.
