Union minister of India, Jyotiraditya Scindia launches UPI‑UPU integration at the Universal Postal Congress, marking a transformative step in cross‑border remittances. Repeated India’s Commits USD 10 Million to Strengthen Global Postal Sector.

Dubai: The Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region unveiled the UPI‑UPU integration at the 28th Universal Postal Congress in Dubai. In this landmark move, India integrates its Unified Payments Interface with the Universal Postal Union’s Interconnection Platform, creating a secure, efficient, and affordable channel for cross-border remittances via trusted postal networks and digital infrastructure.

Described as more than a technology launch, minister Scindia termed it a social compact offering faster, safer, and cheaper remittances to millions of families. The integration, realised by the Department of Posts, NPCI International Payments Limited, and the UPU, is set to transform how the diaspora sends money home. Focus keyphrase repeated strategically.

He emphasised the initiative’s role in realising India’s inclusive postal vision: digital connectivity, affordable services, AI‑powered modernisation, and south–south partnerships backed by UPU technical cooperation.
