The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched the 10th UAE influenza campaign to raise vaccination awareness and protect high-risk groups.

DUBAI: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched the 10th national seasonal influenza awareness campaign under the theme ‘Protect Yourself… Protect Your Community’. Running until March 2026, the campaign seeks to reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses, increase vaccination coverage, and strengthen healthcare readiness across the UAE.

Organised in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, Department of Health Abu Dhabi, Emirates Health Services, Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Health, and Sharjah Health Authority, the initiative places a strong focus on vulnerable groups including the elderly, pregnant women, people with chronic illnesses, young children, and healthcare workers. Vaccines are available at government health centres and accessible to all residents above six months of age.

Marking its tenth anniversary, the campaign is also aligned with the ‘Year of Community’ and aims to reach all segments of society through awareness activities, workshops, and multilingual content across media platforms. MoHAP emphasised that the seasonal influenza vaccine is updated annually, safe, and effective in reducing severe illness and hospitalisation.

His Excellency Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector at MoHAP, highlighted the role of vaccination as a “fundamental pillar in protecting the community and strengthening the UAE’s preventive health system.” He also stressed the importance of healthcare workers receiving the vaccine to protect themselves and their patients.

Dr. Nada Al Marzooqi, Director of Public Health and Prevention, affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to upgrading the campaign each year using new scientific insights and digital tools. She added that boosting public confidence in vaccines is a key goal.

Officials also underlined the importance of artificial intelligence and strategic partnerships with national and international organisations to improve health services and preventive programmes. By encouraging community involvement and providing inclusive access, the campaign continues to build a culture of prevention and reinforces the UAE’s readiness to tackle seasonal and emergency health challenges.
