UAE Media Council drives UAE media development at Abu Dhabi Book Fair 2025 through workshops, innovation, and publishing support.

Abu Dhabi: The UAE Media Council actively championed UAE media development at the 2025 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair through a dynamic series of interactive events and training workshops. Its vibrant booth became a hub for media professionals, content creators, and publishing specialists, aligning with the Council’s broader vision to build a knowledge-based, creative media ecosystem.

His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary General of the Council, toured the Fair, engaging with leading local and global publishers and exploring the latest trends and technologies. “The Fair embodies the UAE’s vision of investing in knowledge and strengthening its global cultural presence,” he remarked. He also noted the role of advanced publishing technologies and artificial intelligence in shaping the industry’s future.

Emphasising its commitment to UAE media development, the Council announced the upcoming launch of a digital system designed to streamline publishing processes. This initiative aims to boost industry competitiveness through efficient procedures, enabling publishers to adapt quickly to digital transformation.

As the federal authority regulating the media and publishing sectors, the Council reaffirmed its dedication to cultural exchange and international collaboration. Participating in such events highlights its ongoing efforts to foster strategic partnerships and promote knowledge sharing.

The Council’s programme also featured workshops advancing media literacy across various community segments. Sessions on Media Content Standards and Age Rating guided content creators on responsible, age-appropriate media. A well-attended Intellectual Property Rights session stressed legal frameworks for protecting creative work. Another session introduced a digital platform for influencer registration, enhancing transparency and compliance.

A dedicated session for educators and parents, Choosing Appropriate Content for Children Aged 9 to 12, provided actionable insights into child-focused content selection.

Together, these initiatives underscore the Council’s pivotal role in UAE media development and its continued investment in a responsible, innovative media landscape.
