Ajman welcomes Big Bad Wolf, the world’s largest book fair, offering 250,000 books at discounts up to 90% from 25 Sept to 5 Oct.

AJMAN: The Emirate of Ajman is set to welcome the world’s largest travelling book fair, Big Bad Wolf, for the very first time this month. The event, sponsored by the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, will take place at the Ajman Youth Center from 25 September to 5 October 2025.

Featuring more than 250,000 books across a wide range of genres, the fair will offer discounts of up to 90%, with prices starting as low as AED 2. The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 9pm, and entry is free for all visitors during the 11-day event.

The initiative is supported by several entities, including the Government of Ajman, the Sharjah Book Authority, and the Office of Special Educational Affairs in Ajman, in strategic partnership with the Ajman Youth Center.

At the official launch press conference held at the Ajman Youth Center, representatives from the Ajman government and numerous publishing houses were in attendance. Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashemi, Director General of the Tourism Development Department, highlighted that hosting the Big Bad Wolf book fair underscores Ajman’s commitment to promoting reading and cultural enrichment across the emirate.

Yap, the founder of Big Bad Wolf, remarked that the fair’s mission is to democratise access to books globally, stating, “Books are not a luxury, but a right for everyone.”

First launched in 2009, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale has expanded to more than 50 cities across 17 countries, with Ajman becoming its 51st destination. The event aims to promote literacy, encourage lifelong reading habits, and offer a platform for book lovers of all ages — from fiction fans and science enthusiasts to children and self-help readers.
