SHARJAH: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved the development of a new residential area in the Al Dahiyat suburb of Kalba, providing modern housing and community amenities for local citizens.
The planned development includes 190 residential plots, along with a central park and a mosque to serve residents. The initiative reflects Sharjah’s ongoing commitment to enhancing citizen welfare and urban planning across its emirates.
The project’s first phase will begin with the construction of 54 residential units, aiming to offer high-quality housing solutions tailored to the needs of Emirati families. These homes will be complemented by green spaces and accessible community infrastructure to promote well-being and social cohesion.
This development forms part of a broader vision to provide integrated living spaces while ensuring sustainability and modernity. With Kalba experiencing rapid urban growth, the Al Dahiyat project is expected to support population expansion and improve the standard of living in the area.
The move aligns with Sharjah’s long-term urban strategy and Sheikh Dr Sultan’s emphasis on building strong, self-sustaining communities through thoughtful residential planning. The inclusion of public facilities such as parks and places of worship underlines the project’s focus on inclusive community development.
Residents in Kalba and nearby areas have welcomed the announcement, which continues the emirate’s tradition of citizen-focused development. Further phases are expected to follow, based on the success of the initial rollout.
