Expo City Dubai and Dubai Culture launch the second Dhai Dubai, celebrating Emirati creativity through light art from 12–18 November.
DUBAI: Expo City Dubai and the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority will unite this November to present the second edition of Dhai Dubai, the UAE’s first Emirati-led light art exhibition, running from 12 to 18 November 2025 at Al Wasl Plaza.
The event, themed around light, heritage, and innovation, offers a platform for Emirati artists to reinterpret tradition through contemporary creativity. This year’s edition features seven new works by artists from three generations — Fatma Lootah, Mohammed Kazem, Khalid AlBanna, Alia Bin Omair, AlZaina Lootah, Ahmed Al Areef Al Dhaheri, and Hessa Alghandi — exploring the cultural, spiritual, and emotional dimensions of light.
Beyond the installations, Dhai Dubai introduces a programme of artist talks and public dialogues at the newly opened House of Arts in Expo City Dubai. The venue is set to become a regional hub for artistic exchange, with further programming announcements due in October 2025.
Shaima Rashed Al Suwaidi, CEO of Arts, Design and Literature at Dubai Culture, highlighted the event’s role in advancing Dubai’s Public Art Strategy, boosting cultural tourism, and supporting creative industries. Co-Curator Amna Abulhoul described Dhai Dubai as a celebration of shared cultural vision, showcasing the evolving identity of Emirati art to the world.
Following its successful debut in 2024, the exhibition continues to cement Dubai’s status as a global capital for the arts, fostering a vibrant dialogue between tradition and modernity.
