Dubai has launched the new Eltizam app, letting officials report cleanliness violations in real time to keep the city spotless.
DUBAI: Dubai is doubling down on its reputation as one of the world’s cleanest cities with the launch of a smart new app called Eltizam. The digital platform gives selected government officials special powers to spot, record, and report violations that spoil the city’s look and feel—right from their phones.
Through the Eltizam app, authorised users can snap a photo, add quick notes, and tag the exact location of offences such as littering, spitting in public, dumping waste, or even barbecuing where they shouldn’t. In total, the app targets eight key violations that harm the city’s image and environment.
The move isn’t just about stricter rules—it’s about smarter enforcement. By granting judicial officer status to trained inspectors, Dubai Municipality is making sure that regulations are applied swiftly and fairly, while also pushing its digital transformation goals.
H.E. Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, explained: “The launch of Eltizam is a key step in our mission to enhance Dubai’s cleanliness, sustainability, and quality of life. It’s about responsibility and social engagement as much as it is about enforcement.”
For residents, the message is simple: Dubai is serious about keeping its streets, beaches, and public spaces pristine. Whether it’s a gum wrapper on the pavement or waste in the sea, the Eltizam app makes sure no small slip goes unnoticed.
