Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, over 200 exceptional educators from Dubai schools and universities have been awarded the Golden Visa in recognition of their service and excellence.

DUBAI: In celebration of World Teachers’ Day, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has directed the granting of Golden Visas to more than 200 outstanding educators across the emirate.

The initiative, first announced by Sheikh Hamdan last year, honours exceptional teachers and education professionals from early childhood centres, schools, and universities, recognising their vital contribution to Dubai’s knowledge economy and future generations.

“Teachers and educators are the ones who light the way forward,” Sheikh Hamdan said. “They inspire, guide, and give our children the skills and confidence to succeed. Supporting them is the best investment we can make in the future of Dubai.”

He added that the Golden Visa is a reflection of Dubai’s values of knowledge, integrity, and service, ensuring that schools remain places where the future is nurtured.

The initiative supports the goals of the Education 33 (E33) Strategy, designed to attract and empower top global teaching talent and position Dubai as one of the world’s leading destinations for educators.

Out of 435 applications, 223 educators were awarded the Golden Visa—157 from schools, 60 from universities, and six from early childhood centres. The evaluation process was based purely on merit, assessing achievements, community impact, and student feedback, while excluding demographic factors such as nationality or gender.

Aisha Miran, Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), said: “Teachers are at the heart of every successful education system. The Golden Visa initiative celebrates their passion, talent, and commitment to shaping the future of our city.”

Applications for the second round are open from 15th October to 15th December 2025 for educators working in private early childhood centres, schools, and international higher education institutions across Dubai.
