Dubai’s Supreme Committee for Hatta Development has unveiled 14 free retail spaces for Emiratis at Hatta’s major tourism site.
DUBAI: In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Supreme Committee for the Development of Hatta has announced 14 new investment and commercial opportunities for citizens at the Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project. The initiative, spearheaded by Dubai Municipality, aims to boost local entrepreneurship, tourism and economic growth in the region.
All spaces at the Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls will be allocated free of charge for one year to Emiratis living in Hatta, enabling small business owners and productive families to expand operations within one of Dubai’s most scenic and culturally rich areas.
These new retail opportunities span 750 square metres and include four restaurants, four shops, and six food and beverage kiosks. The venues will serve a variety of cuisines, from traditional Emirati and Arabic dishes to Western fare, alongside coffee shops, souvenir outlets, and adventure gear rentals. The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project is a core component of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, the Hatta Master Plan, and both the D33 Economic Agenda and Social Agenda 33.
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said this is the first time commercial ventures have been launched at the Hatta Dam area. “These opportunities mark a turning point in empowering local entrepreneurs, creating a dynamic business ecosystem and strengthening the economy in Hatta,” he noted.
The mosaic-laden waterfalls have become a top eco-tourism site, featuring cascading water from the upper Hatta Hydroelectric Plant that flows across a massive stone mural — the largest of its kind — depicting UAE founding leaders. The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project supports both economic inclusion and cultural heritage preservation.
Interested Emirati residents can apply via the Dubai Municipality website. All applications will be reviewed based on eligibility criteria set by an official evaluation committee.
