Medcare introduces Cardio Explorer, an AI-powered blood test in Dubai, to predict coronary artery disease before any symptoms, with 95% accuracy.
DUBAI: Medcare Hospital Al Safa has launched Cardio Explorer, a revolutionary AI heart disease test that can detect coronary artery disease before any symptoms appear — and with 95% accuracy. The AI-powered diagnostic, now available in the UAE, is being seen as a major milestone in preventive cardiology, particularly in light of the rising number of younger patients suffering from cardiac issues.
According to Medcare data, almost 50% of cardiac patients are under the age of 50, with many showing signs of disease 15 years earlier than the global average. The new AI test uses a CE-certified algorithm to analyse a simple blood sample combined with key clinical data such as blood pressure, age, and other risk factors. Results are delivered within 48 to 72 hours, offering patients a clear heart risk score without the need for radiation or physical exertion.
Dr Brajesh Mittal, Head of Cardiology at Medcare Hospital Al Safa, described the test as a game-changer. “It allows us to intervene much earlier, often before the first warning signs. This greatly improves our ability to prevent heart attacks and chronic heart conditions,” he said. The AI heart disease test matches the diagnostic accuracy of more traditional methods like CT angiography and cardiac MRIs but is significantly less invasive and more accessible.
Designed especially for individuals with high-risk profiles — including diabetes, hypertension, a sedentary lifestyle, or a family history of cardiac disease — the test offers a proactive approach to heart health. It’s also ideal for patients unable to undergo traditional stress tests due to age or other health issues.
Dr Ghassan Nakad, Specialist Interventional Cardiologist at Medcare, noted that in the past year alone, over 11,000 patients visited Medcare cardiology clinics, with nearly 85% of them under 45. Alarmingly, 3% of younger patients were found to have severe cardiac conditions requiring immediate intervention. “Young people are catching up to older patients when it comes to age-related diseases,” he said.
Medcare is also expanding its offerings in advanced cardiac care with new state-of-the-art Cath Labs and specialised clinics across its network in the UAE. Cardio Explorer represents not just an advancement in diagnostic technology but a shift toward earlier, life-saving interventions in heart disease.
