The RAK Diabetes Challenge 2025 encourages natural type-2 diabetes reversal through medically supervised lifestyle changes. Registration is free until August 31.
RAS AL KHAIMAH: RAK Hospital, in partnership with MOHAP – Ras Al Khaimah, has launched the 4th edition of its impactful nationwide campaign, the RAK Diabetes Challenge 2025. Running from August 29 to November 13, the initiative offers UAE residents a structured, medically guided path toward reversing type-2 diabetes through diet, exercise, and expert support.
Participants aged 18 and above with HbA1c levels of 5.7 or higher can register online for free until August 31. The challenge offers two participation modes — Physical and Virtual. Physical category participants can visit the RAK Hospital Tent Facility for free tests between August 29–31, while virtual participants must upload their certified test results online.
Dr. Raza Siddiqui, Executive Director of RAK Hospital, called the campaign a “vital public health movement” noting that past editions helped thousands transition from diabetic to non-diabetic states. In 2024, over 5,000 people joined, with HbA1c levels dropping from 7.49% to 5.07% on average — achieved without altering medication.
Participants benefit from workshops, webinars, and expert sessions led by endocrinologists, diabetologists, nutritionists, and fitness specialists. Prof. Adrian Kennedy from Arabian Wellness added, “Our mission is to empower people through sustainable lifestyle changes that reverse illness into wellness.”
Rewards include AED 20,000 in cash prizes for top achievers in the physical category, along with wellness hampers, gym memberships, and health check vouchers for virtual participants. Corporate teams also compete for a wellness trophy, and the top 50 participants receive recognition and certification.
With the UAE ranking 15th globally in diabetes prevalence, this initiative arrives at a crucial time. Most cases are detected incidentally, leading to delayed treatment and long-term complications. The RAK Diabetes Challenge aims to change that by offering hope, community support, and real transformation.
