ABU DHABI: Since opening in May 2023, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi has emerged as a unique addition to Yas Island’s world-class entertainment offering, blending interactive fun with a powerful marine conservation message. As part of Abu Dhabi’s larger vision for sustainable tourism, the marine theme park offers a compelling combination of education, thrill and environmental advocacy.

The destination invites visitors on an engaging journey through eight meticulously recreated marine habitats, including Abu Dhabi Ocean, Endless Ocean and Polar Ocean. These zones mirror aquatic ecosystems from the Arabian Gulf to Antarctica, immersing guests in the planet’s diverse underwater worlds. Experiences such as dolphin kayaking, underwater walking, and the exhilarating Manta rollercoaster ensure memorable visits, while themed dining spots like Spice Island add to the family-friendly atmosphere.

Beyond entertainment, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi plays a vital role in promoting marine knowledge. Its educational programmes are tailored for school students, offering hands-on workshops, interactive displays, and guided tours. Initiatives like the Summer Camp and Science Talk series expose young minds to marine biology, biodiversity, and sustainability themes through expert-led sessions and real-time interactions with marine species.

Central to its mission is the Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue Centre, which leads marine wildlife rehabilitation and conservation in the region. The centre works alongside academic and community institutions to deepen environmental understanding and create lasting impact. Carlos Rodriguez, Deputy General Manager, highlighted the centre’s contribution as a scientific platform connecting local and global conservation efforts.

Sheikha Aisha Al-Qassimi, Education Instructor, emphasised the importance of these marine realms in raising public awareness about ocean ecosystems and their role in global balance. The park’s commitment to sustainability aligns with broader efforts to inspire responsible behaviour and long-term stewardship of marine environments.
