Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA), attributed these results to the airport’s strategic initiatives and commitment to enhancing services. He reaffirmed SAA’s goal to accommodate 25 million passengers annually by 2027 through infrastructure upgrades, operational efficiency, and sustainable practices.
Director Sheikh Faisal bin Saoud Al Qassimi highlighted that the growth mirrors Sharjah’s advancements in tourism, economic development, and investment, supported by state-of-the-art facilities and strategic governance.
In 2024, Sharjah Airport expanded its reach by adding seven new destinations, including Warsaw, Krakow, Athens, Vienna, and Malé via Air Arabia, and Tripoli through Fly Oya. The airport now connects passengers to over 100 destinations, with six new airlines, such as Fly Jinnah, UR Airlines, and AJet, joining its roster.
Cargo operations also saw new players like Kenya Airways and UPS launching routes, while Qatar Airways Cargo and Tanzania Airlines introduced services linking Sharjah to global markets. Supporting local initiatives, the airport facilitated the import of 2,200 cattle for Mleiha Dairy Farm, enhancing Sharjah’s food security efforts.
With a focus on sustainable growth and expanding partnerships, Sharjah Airport continues to reinforce its position as a global aviation and logistics hub.
