SHARJAH: The Sharjah Digital Department (SDD) has launched an updated version of the SEWA (Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority) bill payment service on its ‘Digital Sharjah’ platform. This update aims to make paying bills easier and more efficient for users.

The new SEWA version has a user-friendly interface that lets people quickly check their due amounts. They can see their current and past bills as PDF documents, up to 10 previous bills. Users can also connect their accounts with their Emirates ID or add them manually. If there are any issues with the bills, users can easily file complaints or objections.

Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Director General of SDD, said that the department is dedicated to providing comprehensive services through the digital platform. The goal is to make the digital experience more convenient and reliable for everyone in the community.

The update to the SEWA bill payment service was based on feedback from users. The department listened to their suggestions and made improvements accordingly. To help users navigate the platform, SDD regularly posts instructional videos in Arabic and English on their social media accounts.

SDD’s ‘Digital Sharjah’ platform offers over 60 services from 19 government and private entities including SEWA. These services cover essential areas in Sharjah. Users can choose from various payment methods, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, direct debit cards, credit cards, and the Tahseel Digital Payment System. The platform also has a mobile app available for both iOS and Android devices, making it easy and secure for users to complete their transactions anytime, anywhere.
