Sheikha Bodour leads review of Shurooq-Eagle Hills real estate and tourism projects, highlighting Sharjah’s economic development goals.

SHARJAH: Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), chaired a key board meeting of Eagle Hills Sharjah Development LLC, reaffirming the emirate’s commitment to sustainable economic and urban growth.

The high-level meeting with Eagle Hills executives, including Chairman Mohamed Al Abbar and Shurooq CEO Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, reviewed flagship real estate and tourism projects in Sharjah. Key achievements included the near sell-out of Maryam Island, with 99% of units sold, and strong leasing momentum at Kalba Waterfront Mall.

Maryam Island, a major mixed-use development on Sharjah’s waterfront, has handed over more than 1,200 of its 3,000 units. Its strong investor response reflects rising demand for luxury coastal living, with premium location, high-end amenities and sustained capital growth drawing buyers. The progress of construction and future handovers were also reviewed during the session.

Kalba Waterfront Mall, the largest retail and leisure destination in Sharjah’s Eastern Region, has seen strong occupancy. The development hosts 80 units, family-friendly facilities, and panoramic seafront views, boosting tourism and local enterprise. The project has significantly contributed to job creation and economic diversification in Kalba.

The board also analysed the joint venture’s financial performance for 2025, with presentations covering sales, operational efficiencies, and consistent delivery across projects. Leaders praised the partnership’s results in combining local insight with international best practices.

The session ended with a collective commitment to innovation, sustainability, and inclusive stakeholder engagement, aligning with Sharjah’s broader goals to attract investment and maintain global standards in urban development.
