The UAE welcomed the 17th batch of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients on Thursday, in accordance with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s directive to extend medical care to 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza at UAE hospitals.

Departing from Al Arish International Airport in Egypt, the aircraft touched down at Zayed International Airport, carrying children and cancer patients in critical need of medical aid, accompanied by their families. Upon arrival, medical teams promptly transferred those requiring immediate treatment to hospitals, while others and their companions were accommodated at the Emirates Humanitarian City.

The UAE’s hospitals offer top-tier healthcare for the injured and cancer-stricken, part of ongoing efforts to assist the Palestinian people and address humanitarian challenges in Gaza. These initiatives aim to mitigate the human suffering endured by Palestinians, particularly following the collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system. The leadership’s directives underscore a commitment to healthcare support, evident in the establishment of a field hospital within Gaza and a floating hospital in Arish, Egypt. Furthermore, UAE hospitals are treating 2,000 wounded and cancer-afflicted children, providing comprehensive care until their repatriation. Additionally, medical assistance is extended to hospitals operating within Gaza.

Since the crisis’s onset, the UAE has swiftly delivered urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza, part of a broader strategy to alleviate civilian suffering and mitigate the crisis’s repercussions. These efforts represent a concerted and expedited approach to addressing the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian relief on a global scale.
