ABU DHABI: In a major move to empower young talent in the digital age, the UAE Government has teamed up with Google to offer university students a complimentary one-year subscription to Google Gemini Pro, the tech giant’s leading generative AI tool. The initiative is aligned with the UAE’s National AI Strategy and aims to enhance learning and innovation among Emirati youth.

The offer is available to students aged 18 and above, who can now register using their personal email address to access the full Gemini 2.5 Pro suite before 9th December 2025. The UAE Google Gemini Pro plan includes advanced AI features such as Gemini’s most capable model for research and brainstorming, Deep Research tools, and NotebookLM for note organisation. The package also includes Veo 3 for video creation and 2TB of cloud storage.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, said the initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to advancing national talent by leveraging cutting-edge technology. He highlighted the government’s vision to foster an ecosystem of continuous learning, creativity, and progress through AI.

Google’s regional head, Anthony Nakache, noted a 110% spike in AI and education-related searches in the UAE, indicating growing interest in digital learning. He added that tools like Gemini Pro are ideal companions for today’s students who are eager to explore and innovate in their academic journeys.

The UAE Google Gemini Pro rollout is part of the country’s broader ambition to build a digitally empowered generation. By providing access to top-tier AI resources, the UAE continues to lead in global efforts to integrate technology in education while shaping a knowledge-based economy.
