President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed honoured Indian Ambassador Sunjay Sudhir with the Order of Zayed II for strengthening bilateral ties.

ABU DHABI: In a gesture underscoring the UAE’s commitment to its strategic ties with India, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has conferred the prestigious First-Class Order of Zayed II on Indian Ambassador Sunjay Sudhir. The award recognises the diplomat’s pivotal role in enhancing bilateral cooperation across diverse fields during his service in the country.

The honour was formally presented by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a ceremonial meeting held in the capital. The meeting also served to highlight the growing strength of UAE–India relations.

During the event, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah praised Ambassador Sudhir’s dedication to fostering the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. He reaffirmed that the ties between the UAE and India remain anchored in mutual respect, shared interests, and a long-standing history of collaboration.

The ambassador, in return, conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the UAE leadership. He expressed gratitude to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for the honour and lauded his visionary leadership on both regional and international fronts.

Ambassador Sudhir also extended his thanks to UAE government institutions for their consistent support, which he credited as instrumental in advancing the historic and multifaceted relations between the two countries.

The UAE honours Indian envoy Sunjay Sudhir at a time when diplomatic, trade, and cultural engagements between the nations continue to deepen — reflecting the shared aspirations of both governments.
